ENC 1102 Outcome Reflection
Generating Inquiry.
This means we can generate proper questions based on the writing or readings we do. I believe that this outcome was achieved through the research paper we wrote throughout the semester, where we had to create different questions to answer to show our understanding of the topic. For example, my research paper was about how people's motivation and perceived productivity is improved by the gamification of education and what elements are most impactful in doing so where I had to create questions such as why a certain element is more impactful and ask questions about how original my idea was in the drafting phase.

Multiple Ways of Writing.
This means we would be able to include audio, videos, images, and text in our writing to help support the point we are making. I have used this for my projects, such as the cultural artifact analysis and the vision board, where images were used to explain certain text. We have also learned how to format a normal paper with citations and text, which is one form of writing that was used in projects such as the cultural artifact analysis,s and we have also learned how to format a research paper in the format of IMRAD.

Information Literacy.
We should be able to gather credible and ethical evidence relevant to what we are writing about. This is being used for my research paper, where I need to find proper evidence to support my claim and might need to conduct ethical surveys for primary data to present. We have also done a library session regarding finding credible sources, which helped me find a more trustworthy source to find and tell whether the information I'm using in my work is legitimate or not.
Research Genre Production.
We should be able to adapt our writing to match the constraints that we are given based on the different genres. This is done by us in the assignments we do, where we need to stick to a particular genre and the conventions of different communities when writing. For example, writing a reading response is different in comparison to the wording I used in my research paper, which was more informational than based on opinions. This helped me understand the overall genre of a research paper and how a paper is generally written in the IMRAD format, which was used in my paper as well, with an introduction, methods, results, and discussion sections.
Contributing Knowledge.
We should be able to draw conclusions based on primary evidence, connecting our findings with preexisting materials. This is also being done in our research assignment, where we collect data and compare it with past evidence to draw conclusions. In my research paper, I have made a separate section called discussion where I have focused on connecting past paper work with the current work I am doing to join in on the main discussion regarding the topic.

Revision.
Based on the different feedback we receive, we should be able to accept certain parts and take into consideration the suggestions we get to improve our drafting, revising, writing, and overall clarity. We have peer reviews, which help us critique other students and get suggestions for our writing as well. We also get feedback from the teacher for suggestions for improvement in our writing.

​What I learnt and how I will use it in my future:
ENC 1102 has helped prepare me for my writing in future academic, professional, and personal life since I have learnt how to format academic papers and how to cite properly, while also being able to collect my thoughts and ideas and be able to present them. With the help of the daily discussions, I have been able to write about different topics with touches of my personal opinion and be able to present it to a group. I have also worked on a research paper, which took quite a lot of time and effort, and I believe it has made me ready for future lengthy writing assignments I might come across in the future. Having an interest in the field of research, I believe this research paper has helped me in learning about the process of data collection and analyzing of data to be able to present it in a neat format, which I might use in the future.
