Reflective Narrative
Brief Reflection:
This assignment helped me reflect on my past experiences with Christmas and changed the way I view Christmas in general. Despite it being a holiday I have been celebrating since I was a child just for the presents, I have started to gain an appreciation for what my parents used to do. Now, I find that what happened in my childhood is the cause of my excitement for this holiday. I also got to know how some of my classmates celebrate Christmas in different ways, giving me a new perspective on how Christmas is celebrated.
If given the opportunity, I would analyze Halloween. This is because I grew up celebrating Halloween by wearing costumes and going trick-or-treating with my friends. Now that I have grown older, most of my Halloween is spent on horror movie marathons. It is the thrill of getting scared and being frightened that I love in general about Halloween and as a horror movie lover, I find this holiday as the perfect option for my next analysis.
Reflect on the Revision Process
I received feedback from my peer, Ashley, stating that my project was clear, well-worded, and easy to read. She also mentioned that my ties to different parts of my writing were well-implemented while responding to the prompt. For revisions, she suggested that my traditions section be broken up into more sentences, as it was confusing to read with the commas. This feedback helped me realize that I need to reduce run-on sentences in my writing and focus more on splitting my writing into smaller parts for better readability.
The multimedia content analysis I enjoyed the most was the one about our favorite desserts. I liked this one the most because the debates we had in class regarding the topic were fun. The assignment also helped me realize how an ice cream sandwich could relate to my identity, which I found to be an interesting piece of writing to work on.
