Reflective Narrative
Brief Reflection:
After the assignment, my perception of cartoon characters regarding their fashion hasn't really altered much. However, I would like to note that, after completing the assignment and reading several analyses, I realized that different people may describe the same character's fashion sense in the same way but interpret their overall character in slightly different ways at times (such as in the activities we did in class where we had to rate a professor's dress sense). I also noticed how some cartoon characters tend to stick to a particular fashion sense and only change occasionally for certain events, depending on what they are trying to convey. For example, Isabella in Phineas and Ferb changes between two different types of clothes throughout the show based on the events going on, as analyzed by one of my peers. This was something I never actually noticed as much before. If I had the opportunity to analyze another character, I would choose Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory since it was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and he always wears a lab coat, which might be interesting to analyze.
Reflect on the Revision Process:
The feedback from my peer, Thomas, was fully positive, and as he stated, I have covered all the required guidelines. I take this as a sign of my progress in writing since the first piece I produced in this class. Although there might have been minor flaws, I believe it connected with readers while also being complete in its analysis.
Yes, I was familiar with the character my peer chose, as he selected characters (Isabella, Buford, and Perry) from the same show (Phineas and Ferb) that I analyzed. The show was one we both watched in our childhood and hold close to us. I used to watch it on the Disney Channel when it aired, and I have also seen the entire show on my own through streaming channels, making me quite accustomed to it prior to reading the analysis. Hence, upon reading the analysis, I was able to connect with the writing while also understanding all the references made.
