Show Title: Phineas and Ferb

Biographical Information: Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is a character from the show Phineas and Ferb and is the head of Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated (a fictional company). He is an evil scientist who always tries to take over the Tri-State Area with his inventions, or "inators" but is never successful due to Perry The platypus ruining his plans.

I believe that  Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz was worthy of my analysis since he was from one of my favorite shows as a kid and used to play a funny character with a good background story. He also made the episodes interesting due to his inventions that fail at the end. I liked his character in particular since his character involves him balancing life as a single father trying to give his daughter everything he never had as a kid while also being the villain who tries to take over the city. I find his character to have more depth than any other character in the show.

Rhetorical Strategies:

His Appearance: Doofenshmirtz has a triangular head with a pointy crooked nose and a pointed chin. His hair is brown and looks messy while his posture is always bent. In terms of things he wears, he has a lab coat with a dark turtleneck and a pant which tends to indicate he is a mad scientist.

Identity: Based off of his looks, one may conclude that he is a villain scientist, which he is. But its his actual character of being clumsy and comical in his actions that contrast from his appearance of being a serious scientist. The audience knowing about his tragic upbringing and his desire for validation might help the audience understand the character better. Also knowing that he creates inventions that try to conquer the tristate might help them know that he is an evil villain in the show.

Contextual Variation: In the context of the show, Doofenshmirtz is seen as harmless despite him wanting recognition. This creates a sense of comedy and sympathy of the audience towards the character despite him being evil.
